What a nice discovery. The restaurant is so cute and comfortable. We were greeted by a very nice hostess and made to feel very welcome. The menu has a number of items that I wanted to try, but I had to go for the ribs. They did not disappoint. They were perfectly cooked and sauced. There were too many of them for us as we are not big eaters. The french fries were also just right. The prices were good especially for the wine. The escargots were amazing.

They definitely have the best spareribs in the region. You will not regret it! I am a difficult person to please with good spareribs. I normally eat spareribs at one specific restaurant in Utrecht but I will add Eigenwijs to my list!

It's okay. Weird interaction with the service, they did not understand warm beer was not okay. But in the end, after more complaints, the situation was resolved. Still took long before food was served for our (14 person) group and some of that time was spent without drinks.

I have been to Eigenwijs several times this year, as a student the all you can eat ribs are definitely worth it and super tasty. Howev er when I went for dinner yesterday(28 November 2023) it was an awful experience. I got asked what I would like to drink and patiently waited for my menucard or to be offered a breadbasket, as this was what was offered and served to all the tables around me. After about 45 minutes I started to trying to get the waiters attention and it was as if he tried his best not to look in my direction but would help other tables in the proccess. I then decided it was best to leave as I felt uncomfortable and unwelcome there. I proceed to leave with half a bottle of wine in hand and was not asked a single quesion as to why this was the case, and of course the waiter who was 'serving' me was busy somewhere else. I paid the bill and left, but I am sad to say I will never be returning after that experience.

Is altijd heel lekker spare ribs here bij Eigenwijs. The taste naver changing, the meat is really pull out. Always good to eat spare ribs here. Dine in or take away is always delicious!

We are Australian tourists that ate here 3 times. The special is "Spare ribs" on a Monday or Tuesday. Delicious. Great atmosphere and we really enjoyed the wonderful food and the beers. Friendly staff on each occasion that we visited and they also spoke English.

Can be great or mediocre. The first time I went to Eigenwijs the ribs were amazing! The meat fell off the bone and the marinade was lovely. The second time - when I returned, the ribs were not that amazing. Still good but on the dry side. So depends if you get lucky!

An old restaurant with a Dutch style. The hosts are very friendly. The restaurant looks out dated and could use a new style. The food is good and I recommend the spareribs
